Defensive Shooting Instructors, Inc. Student Testimonials

Hey Mark:

Thought I would share a recent incident ... husband out of town, pitch dark at night where I live, neighbors are 2 - 3 acres away ... I'm sound asleep, 2:00 am, my house alarm goes off. Before I took your course, I would have jumped up, turned the alarm off immediately and then God only knows what I would have done next. This time, I let the alarm ring (wake the neighbors, let them know I might need help and let an intruder think the house is empty)

Grabbed the 45 which was under my husband's pillow, put a round in the chamber, slowly got up, stayed away from open doorways, checked the upstairs, then carefully went down and checked downstairs.

Needless to say, all was well. It ended up being a wire in one of the screens gone bad and tripped the alarm. Once I knew all was well, I called the alarm company (we are monitored) to let them know all was ok, dropped the clip, cleared the chamber, put the bullet back in the clip and put the clip back in. ALL IN THE DARK!

In milliseconds, everything you taught me and Sonia came back. Before your course, I never would have handled the situation the same as I did. I'm thankful all was well, I'm even more thankful that I knew I could handle my firearm. Thank you.

In the meantime, know that what you do DOES make a difference.

MARK,

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DID FOR OUR CLASS! I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW PATIENT YOU ARE WITH BEGINNERS CONSIDERING THIS SKILL IS LIKE BREATHING TO YOU. I AM AMAZED AT ALL THE KNOWLEDGE YOU POSSESS; AND AM GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR GETTING ME OVER THE FROZEN STAGE!

I PLAN TO PRACTICE AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH, AND PREFERABLY WEEKLY IF SCHEDULES ALLOW. GETTING COMFORTABLE AND CONFIDENT WILL BE MY FIRST GOAL. THE REST WILL COME WITH TIME.

I SPOKE TO A SHERIFF'S HELICOPTER PILOT WHILE I WAS IN BOSTON MARKET HAVING LUNCH AND ASKED HIM IF THAT GUN IN HIS HOLSTER WAS A .45 CALIBER AND HE SEEMED A LITTLE SURPRISED THAT I WOULD KNOW THAT.  SEE, I AM STARTING TO BE MORE OBSERVANT ALREADY. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I FELT VERY SAFE DINING TODAY KNOWING HE WAS THERE, AND ARMED!

IT'S A VERY NICE FEELING KNOWING THAT WE HAVE A CHOICE TO NOT BE VULNERABLE 24 HOURS A DAY, AND AT THE MERCY OF THE PEOPLE THAT ALWAYS HAVE WEAPONS; THE CRIMINALS!

THANKS AGAIN,

CORINNE
